What just happened to the file I was working on?

I am working on an illustrator file and I clicked the little House or home icon in the top left region I get redirected to the home screen and it seems as if everything I was working on has been closed, I don't understand, is the file still open and I need to click something to get back to it or has it just been closed because I clicked on that icon? Normally if you're going to close a file it would prompt to "save as". What just happened here?

It is still open, just click to the left of the AI icon in the upper left corner.
