I am trying to link in a CAD drawing. Neither DWG nor DXF are supported on my end. I have seen conflicting information online and wish to clarify if this is possible or not.

@Charlie329572228uvx Illustrator also supports a wide range of formats for placing or opening file — but, Illustrator does not support linking DWG or DXF files the way it does with images or other Illustrator files. This means you can’t maintain a live link to a CAD file that updates automatically when the source file changes. A nice work-around if DWG/DXF won’t open or place is convert to PDF or SVG: Use AutoCAD or a CAD viewer to export the drawing to a format Illustrator handles more reliably. https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/supported-file-formats-illustrator.html
