Why does the Red Plus sign show up when exporting?

I have noticed recently that the "Red Plus Sign" that shows up when you have overflow text, tends to show up when exporting. Does anyone know why? Seems to be a new bug. Yes, I know I can get rid of the overflow but it is a long story. In case you where wondering.

Exactly when does it show up?

After you exported an image and then open it again?

 

What file format is it and which version of Illustrator?

Yes, "after" I export to either PNG or JPG. They show up in both when opening to preview and when you insert into a document, like MS Word. See attached example.  Illustrator version 29.4

OS is  Windows 11 Enterprise v22H2 The files you requested are attached. One thing I have noticed is that the Red plus sign does not show up in the export of the first textbox created. Only when I copy and paste using the same textbox does the red plus show up. Hope that makes sense.  Cheers!

I understand that. If you read my first initial post, I mentioned that about the overflow. "Yes, I know I can get rid of the overflow but it is a long story. In case you where wondering." I am wondering why all of a suddent the Red Pluses are showing up in my exports. This has not happened in the past. This just started happening.

Sorry about the confusion. I have escalated this with the product team, and they are currently investigating it. In the meantime, could you try installing an earlier version of Illustrator 28.7.5 and let us know if it helps?
