Hi there, hope someone can help!
I'm running CC 2021 on a mac book pro, with Big Sur. All the latest updates. I can't open a file or even start something new. I just get the rainbow ball spinning, unresponsive so I force quit.
? any suggestions greatly appreciated!

So I understand that Illustrator launches correctly?
WHat about the Home screen? Everything looking OK?
When was the last time you rebooted the computer?
Did it ever work?

Is your internet connection working?
If you deactivate the Homescreen and activate the "Legacy New file" dialog box in the Preferences > General, can you then create new files?
Where are your files located?
Which system is it?
Do you have a printer installed?

Is the printer set up as the default printer?
Can Illustrator access it easily? Is it turned on?
There is information about the printer saved into the file. So whenever Illustrator opens a file it checks for the printer. If that fails, then boom.
What else do you have: third party plugins? Files linked from the server?
Illustrator is very peculiar aboiut networks unfortunately.
And also synchronized folders: Illustrator doesn't like them a lot. So in case your files are in iCloud or Google Drive: get them outta there and try again. Creative Cloud works.
