Hello,

I have downloaded a dwg map from Digimaps and opened it it AutoCad before opening it in Adobe Illustrator. I would like to know if it is possible to avoid these lines that cut through the different colour blocking(hatching) once opened in Illustrator - please see attached screenshot. I am wanting to avoid this so that I can select the different colour regions and change their colour before filling with pattern. Are there any export/import options in any of the programs or is there a way of simplifying the information in Illustrator?

Many thanks in advance.

You could try if you can select all objects of the same fill (via the Select > Same menu) and then use the Pathfinder panel to unite them.
