Hi
Does anyone know if it is possible or how to save a file so I can edit a pattern created in Illustrator on the laptop on the iPad and vice versa? What does the file have to be saved as so I can edit the separate elements.
I have tried importing an ai. to the iPad and releasing the clipping mask but that doesn't work. The file saved to the cloud won't edit. So is it even possible? Or only possible to edit elements not created as a pattern yet.
The reason I ask is I would like to update old designs by drawing directly on the pattern elements (as part of the pattern repeated tile) on the iPad.
Thanks for any help you can give me 🙂
You cannot edit patterns on the iPad.
But you could drag the pattern from the swatches panel to the artboard. Then save the file. Then you can edit the shapes.

Wonderful Monika thank you. I also found an interesting video by Laura Coyle - Seamless Repeat in Ipad & Desktop Illustrator - on Youtube.
