Typing text without a keyboard

I may be missing something but can't seem to figure out how to type text without having a keyboard attached. Is there a way?

Hi Liz,

You can simply choose the Type tool, tap on the artboard and the virtual keyboard would appear. If you are still not getting that, there's an option for the virtual keyboard on the contextual menu (first on the left), tap on it and you should be good to go. Please check this link for more details.
