Fill shape/area

Illustrator on iPad. Can't believe this is so difficult but even google not coming up with an answer. How do I fill an area? There's no paint bucket and the gestures that work on other adobe apps do nothing on illustrator. Many thanks.

Click on the shape you want fill, then two options...

1. left hand tool bar has the colour & stroke circles at the bottom, click on those to change the fill or stroke colour

OR

2. the properties palette on the right (2nd icon down) also shows the fill & stroke, click on those to change.
