24.2.1 Freezes on startup

Just updated to 24.2.1 today and I can't start illustrator without it freezing and not responding. I am running Windows 10 and it freezes when I get to the "What's new" popup. Please advise!

Please check your printer driver and update if available.

Then make sure your printer is set up as the default printer and turned on.

 

If you don't have a printer, install a PDF printer. If you have already done that, check if it is still the default printer.

Hi, did you reset the Illustrator preferences?

(Using shortcut keys Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift as you start Illustrator Cmdn+Option+Control+Shift on Mac)

I reset prefrences and re-installed, no luck still freezing at startup.

Another option to test. If you go to the Creative Cloud app and Install an older version of Illustrator and then try if you can open that one

Rolled back to 24.2 had the same issue. Rolled back to 24.1 and it starts up without freezing however, when I open or start a new document illustrator freezes. 

 

I have not had these issues until I updated till 24.2.1 

 

System specs

Microsoft Windows 10 Home
OS Version: 10.0.18363 N/A Build 18363

i7-5930K CPU

64GB Ram

RTX 2080 Ti (Studio driver 451.77)

Thanks for the tip what I did was Open Settings>Devices>Printers and Scanners  hit drivers and removed the printers that I hadnt been using  in a while. After that everything worked perfectly!

I am having the same problem! I had no problems with illustrator but after updating, at first it would not respond every time I tried to save my work and now I can't even open illustrator (it says not responding as soon as it opens). Please help me fix this.
