I reside here in Japan and am using a MacBook Pro 2020 16 inch retina (not that that makes any difference I think). OS BigSlur (also I don’t think that that makes any difference either). However, I have been advised to install the Adobe RGB (1998) default RGB Profile instead of the standard sRGB IEC61966-2-1 default. Now I am stuck as to what Default CMYK Coversion Profile I should be using for normal printing (e.g., color photos on e.g. an epson inkjet printer). With the exception a Japanese 2002 Newspaper profile, I have the following options:
Japan Color 2001 Coated
Japan Color 2001 Uncoated
Japan Web Coated (Ad)
Japan Color 2011 Coated
Japan Color 2003 Web Coated
What would you suggest is the best of those to set as my "default" CMYK Conversion Profile?
Thanking you
Sr. Sabina
"Normal printing" means you print them on your own desktop inkjet printer? Perhaps don't send CMYK data at all. Inkjets often produce better results with RGB files.
If you create for offset printing, I would look for advice from color management experts in your country. Have them explain the matter toyou and have them recommend the profiles to use. Before starting any job, always contact the printer beforehand and ask them which profile they expect.
