Adobe Illustrator 2020 (24.2.1) running slow

Hi,

I work for an IT provider and have a client experiencing issues when using Adobe Illustrator 2020. He informs me for the last few weeks it has been sluggish and crashing when opened. This started on his laptop, but when moving a file he was working on to his desktop, the program was slow as well. Is there any settings or recent updates I need to look into for this issue?
