Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. Does it crash while working on a specific document or while performing a specific task?

Also, please try turning off Automatic Graphics Switching. Go to Apple menu > System Preferences and click Energy Saver > Deselect the automatic graphics switching checkbox.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to your response.

Hi there,

It's not document specific, most files make it crash. No specific task.

Graphics switching is off as outlined in your response.

Erased and reinstalled the system and CC, still happening.

Installed Illustrator 2019 (24) to try and work around but it's still crashing.

Is this a known issue?

So it's crashing when you open files?

No, never on opening. Generally when I've been working on it for a while,
often crashes in the background whilst I'm using another app, when I switch
back to Illustrator and sometimes on saving.

Can you try and turn off "Save in background" in the preferences?

Where do you save files? If on a network, try the harddisk. And don't save in synchronized folders.

Can you also turn off the Dication feature in the system? And automatic GPU switching?

'Save in background' is now off.

We use Dropbox as a file server but work locally on files which later sync.

Dictation and GPU switching were both inactive.

Will let you know how it goes.

The issue has not been resolved yet.

I work in a busy studio so have had to work on an iMac to avoid downtime.
Same OS and Illustrator, working fine.

Is there a known issue with the latest version of illustrator and the new
Macbook Pro?

The Macbook Pro 16" is quite famous in this forum.

Please contact Customer Care so they can have a look inside your system. Maybe they can find something. https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

Turning off automatic GPU detection (or switching or whatever it is called) in the system has helped some people.
