Adobe Illustrator not responding on Windows 10

Hi all,

 

I'm using Adobe Illustrator on Windows 10, on a Surface Pro 7, Illustrator had been working perfectly well recently until this morning when I updated it to 24.2.1

 

It now on start opens and stays on the welcome screen, it dosent respond to the mouse or any key inputs, the first problem was that when I opened a new file it froze and came up not responding.

 

I've tried plenty of things from other places in the forum and nothing has worked so far. I've attempted reinstalling several times, including restarting. I've tried using previous versions of Illustrator including 2019 and 2018, and have the same issue.

It froze when opening a file?

Did you reset the preferences after updating?

And did you check your printer? Is there still a default printer or is the PDF printer still set up properly?
