Adobe Illustrator: Stuck in Preview Mode on Macbook

Adobe illustrator using Macbook Pro and Catalina with illustrator on second monitor. Im stuck in Preview mode and I hit the mac keys to come out and this time I have a "NO" go. Thinking of force quiting (on the cloud I hope its still saving). Tried to find answer but looks like I needed to begin a new thread. Any advice?

Hi, what version of Adobe Illustrator are you using? Have you tried to reset preferences? Have you tried moving the Illustrator window to the main monitor?

Twice this happened..I'm using the latest CC 2021...I need to try to move to primary window...let you know if this happens again...fortunately Adobe cloud saved the doc and I was working on the iPad after...I didn't loose anything.  Whew!

What do you mean by 'Preview' mode? In Illustrator, Preview mode is the name of the view you'll work in most of the time (as opposed to Outline mode).
