Adobe Illustrtaor not launching on macOS Catalina

Illustrator hasn't been working since I updated my software on Macos Catalina, whenever I open the app I can only see a grey screen and nothing happens from there. The only way i can use illustrator is if I open one of my pre-existent files, though I cannot create a new file from there.
I already tried reinstalling it and that didn't work either, and I also tried launching it on safe mode.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing version of the Adobe Illustrator?

I agree with Marlon. You may try resetting preferences first. If it doesn't help, please login to root account (https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204012). Check how application works there. If it works fine there, then it could be related to permission errors. Follow these steps to repair permission errors: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html
