AI 2020 "Recent Files" menu does not include .ait files. Why?

I used this regularly back in AI 2015. Now that we've updated to AI 2020 I don't see any .ait files in the list. Is there a way to re-introduce them?

I find it interesting no one else has run into this or it is of no interest. We maintain a long list of .ait files and use them constently. When I run across one that needs to be updated, in AI 2015 I can open the .ait directly from the "recent" list, update it and save over the old .ait. In AI 2020 I must first locate the stored file. Small thing, but saves me time.
