AI Files i had made yesterday wont open today from my computer. They say "file is in an unknown format and cannot be opened".  Clicking the file will even launch illustrator but then the message pops up.

The computer has not even been turned off , i am just baffled. If i download the same file from google drive backup they will open,  but not from my computer.

I have had no updates done, i have uninstalled and reinstalled illustrator, i have deleted pref folder.  I am just out of ideas.

So where did you save it?

And I don't get which file opens and which doesn't.

Directly saving to or opening from a network might cause issues.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. As Monika mentioned earlier, please try copying the files on your local drive and then try to open them rather than opening from network drives.

Let us know if it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh
