Hi all, I am relatively new to illustrator as although using a vector program I have been awaiting th release on IPad.

The issue I am having is I need to be able to drag guide lines onto my designs, so that when they are sent to print I know crop margins etc, I cannot seem to do this on my iPad, any advice?I know it must be obvious once I know how

Usually the bleed gets created automatically when you generate a PDF. Layout software uses the artboard as the page size and all the graphic that overlap the artboard go into the bleed.

You cannot create a PDF for professional printing presses in Illustrator on the iPad. You need the desktop version to do so.

If you need a guide, draw a line and convert it to a guide. That is possible.

please excuse my lack of knowledge, but why can I not produce PDF's for professional print via the iPad? I am working with other vector programs on my tablet and can create pdf for print with no issues, so assumed illustrator would be the same.

I'm only trying to make the switch as Adobe is more widely used

The PDF export in Illustrator for the iPad doesn't offer you the options you need for professional printing, such as PDF/X, adding of bleed or color management.

That does not mean you cannot print those PDFs, but a printing service will most likely reject them because their preflight will throw a lot of errors.
