i have an ilustrator file where all the objects outside of my artboards are multiplied - all colours are darker and white disappears altogether.

Screenshot shows it all.

It happens only for that specific document.

I know i can copy everything to another doc, but this is just bugging me and i want to know what it is.

thanks

Can't find any swich to bring it back to normal behaviour.Illustrator_2018-08-03_11-44-17.png

I found the problem

It was the simulate colored paper turned on in the document setup.

That option caused all the problems.

I was playing with it before but there is no "preview" so didn't see the change - you have to click OK to accept the change.

thanks

here. It all seems ok.

when i copy those objects to another file they act normally.

so it's not the objects, but rather artboard or document issue

Your screenshot looks a bit as if you have the Artboard Options dialog open while the Fade region outside Artboard option is turned on, but this fading should disappear as soon as you close the dialog.

Can you share your sample .ai file?

Which version of Illustrator are you using?

it's not the fade region outside - it doesn't "multiply" colours

I'm using AI CC - both 2017 and 2018 act the same

here's the file: https://ufile.io/xpriz

Please upload that to Dropbox. That service doesn't like my adblocker.
