Aligning letters

Hi!

I would like to align the letters in a logo I have created so that they are all level on a horizontal line. 

It seems like they are not aligned like this in the original version of the font and when I try to move them with the mouse, they do not align as the original positions are not aligned.

I must be not undesratnding this, why can't you use Align?
