I’ve noticed that, from Illustrator, whenever I add any color to the library, when I go to use that color in another document, it’s always brought back in as a spot color, no matter if it was originally a process build.
Is this a known bug? It's very frustrating.
Global colors, gradients and pattern swatches are not supported in CC libraries.
But as a workaround you can drag an object filled with a pattern/gradient/global color to the CC Library
You can also drag multiple items filled with different patterns/gradients/global colors together into a CC library to simulate a library.
The easiest way to add them to a new document is to hold down the Alt key when you drag them from the library and place them in a new document. The patterns/gradients/global c

Nevermind—it's a long known issue. Apparently, process colors marked as "Global" are not supported in cloud libraries and will be marked as a Spot Color instead. Adobe needs to fix this stupid issue.

You can hit escape before you click to place the object(s) or delete the dragged library items because the swatches are now part of the document.

Thank you for the reply. But since this issue has been around for a number of years, I don't see how adding it to a feature request is going to help as this seem rather fundamental and not a "feature." As a team-based cloud solution, this is beyond stupid when it comes to a production-friendly workflow and Adobe needs to do a better job here. It's not anybody's responsibility to chase them around the web with the hope that they'll see a feature request—especially since this is an Adobe Support Community!

I know that is has been around for years, I was the one who reported it.
It should have been labeled as a bug instead of feature request, but there is no way to change that.
By adding your vote you may increase the possibility that it will be fixed.
