Are there anchor points to manipulate when using Effects like Roughen?

I built several trees and added texture with the Roughen and Twist commands under the Effects menu. There are a couple of stray paths that I want to manipulate but when I try to find the anchor points (or Bezier handles) with the White Arrow and Black Arrow tools, notthing but the original points become visible. 

I turned on Show Anchor Points in Selections Tools in the Preferences Menu, but nothing.

When using the effects, like Roughen, are there anchor points to manipulate?

Parametric effects do not generate editable points unless you expand the appearance.
