Arrow key kerning problematic in AI

In the not-so-distant pass, when kerning in AI using the arrow keys, the screen would move along with the curser as you went through the copy so you didn’t have to stop kerning to reposition the cursor, it followed along and even returned to the next sentence in the text. Which is still the case with InDesign, it works beautifully. But now that no longer happens in AI. Now when you are kerning using the arrow keys the screen no longer moves along with the curser, when you reach the end of the text that is visible on your screen (with kerning you have to be up close and personal with the text) instead of the screen staying with the curser, the curser now just goes off the screen and continues to move down the text. That’s problematic since you have to see the words to kern them. So, then you have to stop and move over to the next text that fits on your screen and then continue to kern that text until the cursor moves of the screen again, doing that over and over again is unproductive.  Our company creates exhibits for museums and such, so we do a ton of kerning and this new way isn’t working for us. I hope it is an easy fix, like unchecking or checking a box in the preferences and not something that is gone forever.

I see what you mean, the text does not scroll to the position of the cursor.

It worked in 2019 (23.1.1) and earlier versions, but stopped doing that in 2020.
