Can't create or open files (TRIAL)

I have the trial of the Adobe Ilustrator but I can't open or create files. 

It doesn't do anything when I try to click any of the files under "start a new file fast" . I already tried to enable "use legacy "file new"interface but it didn't do anything. 

Please help! I have 7 trial days left and would love to try this .

Do you have a printer installed, set up as the default printer and turned on? Printer driver updated?
