Can't join two end points

Hello everyone !

I can't join this two endpoint but I don't understand why.

Message error : " To join, you must select two end points of the same  or two different path".

I only selected these two anchor points and checked if there is a compound path in the Layers tab, but there is none.

Can you help me please ?

You may check if somehow a guide is also selected. If so, deselect it.

But none of your solutions work for me ... I don't understand what is going on.

Can you upload that part of your artwork on a hoster of your choice (eg dropbox or similar) and link to here?

Can you share a sample Illustrator file (.ai)?
