Can't open a file - the illustration contain an illegal or misplaced operator

I am getting a message error trying to open one of my file.

The message error is: Can't open the illustration. the illustration contain an illegal or misplaced operator

Offending operator:P

Context: % 0 R

 I have updated CC to the maximum capacity my OS will permit which is version  23.0.1.

I have tried all the usual restrating the computer, etc. I could rebuild the file but without knowing was is causing this, there is no guaranty it won't happen again. I would appreciate the help to recover this file. Thanks!
