Can you close a paintbrush path in illustrator so it seamlessly blends and not have a gap?

Is there a way to close a paintbrush path in illustrator so it seamlessly blends with the start of the path.

There's a clear gap even though it's closed. I would prefer it to look completely connected and the same width as the rest of the path.

You need to drag the brush out of the brushes panel and edit the start and end to connect seamlessly.

After editing, drag it back.
