Cannot open Illustrator plugin because developer unverified - Catalina

Hiya, looking for some help installing third party plugins fo Adobe Illustrator, I'm getting errors because the source is an unknown developer and if I go to override the issue in my Secutiry and Privacy settings, it doesn't seem to work - when I check the 'Open Anyway' button I get no response and the issue remains.

I've seen some instructions on how to deal with this when opening apps, but not a plugin only, these are all .aip files

I'm on OS Catalina using the latest Adobe CC update.

Cheers 🙂

Hi Kay,

It won't work, initially Apple did allow bypassing this via the Security settings, but if i remember correctly they discontinued it around Feb or March. You would need a notarised version of the plugin, that the developer of the plugin will generate. This notarisation needs a paid Apple Developer account.

You could also try by removing the xattr attribute on the plugin if its added to any of the file in the plugin package(worth a try if it works, before contacting the developer)
