Clicked "create outlines" and Work Disapeared

I was clicking around tring to figure out some text effect. I clicked "create outlines" under a right-click menu and this happened...ctrl+z isn't undoing it. How do I get back to a normal display/screen?

Are you in Outline preview mode?

You can change that in the View menu to Preview

Under view, screen mode it says I'm in "normal screen mode".

I fixed it! I just right clicked one of my paths and hit "preview".

At least your screenshot indicates that you are in Outline mode, as Ton already assumed.

Go to the View menu > Preview and see what happens.
