Clipping Mask for a curve

I need some help, when I add texture for a curve with a clipping mask, it creates a doming effect under it.  How do I get rid of that? Thank you.

Clipping masks will always close open paths.

You need to outline the stroke.

Or use an opacity mask.

It worked with Outline Stroke but I have to make a compound path to avoid a message it says the top object is very complex and may cause the document to fail.
