Colors in Illustrator

Illustrator crashes when I click on the black or white colors on the color pallet when tring to apply them to a gradient. Please fix.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing the version of the OS & Illustrator? Does it happen with a specific file or all?
If it happens with all, resetting preferences suggested by @marliton should help. If it is a file specific issue, try copying content of this file into a new file and let us know if it helps.
