I'm sorry for my description but I'm very new to this.

I have a photo, I need to select a portion of it that I can then use to develop a patern for gift paper.

Can anyone give me simple instructions on how to do this?

Many Thanks

Sadie

You could crop the image (Object > Crop image), then use it as the basis for a pattern using the pattern maker (Window > Pattern options, then click 'Make Pattern' in the menu for the panel).

If what you need to do is more complex than that, please show screenshots and describe exactly what you want the pattern to be.
