AfterAfterBeforeBeforeSo when I load in a file to be converted to a vector file it often doesnt pick up some colours, I load it in and hit image trace but it doesnt seem to pick up some small text which it should pick up in my opinion. I dont know how to use illustrator so any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Actually ignore all that. All the elements of this can be found in PDFs here:

https://www.hsa.ie/eng/topics/covid-19/

You can recreate it from those. Open one in Illustrator and copy the elements you need.

And if you need them in bulk, this company sells them as floor stickers, which is where I think you swiped this image from:

https://www.pdsigns.ie/product/coronavirus-circular-floor-sticker-sign/

Since it's all freely-available HSA imagery I doubt it's a copyright issue though.

I really wouldn't advise using image trace to pick up text. It may simply not be capable of that level of fidelity if characters are only a few pixels across.

Ask yourself a few questions.

How big is the PNG (in pixels)?

How big do you need it to be (in cm or inches)?

Do you really need this to be vector?

If so, can you recreate it rather than image tracing?

If not, do you really need to image trace those logos? Can you not acquire larger versions to match your size requirements, or leave them off entirely?

I need it in a vectorized file to be able to print it on a large format printer like a Roland / Mimaki etc. The file is 1000x1000 pixels and needs to be 500mm in diameter. Any advice on converting it?

If as you ssay you have no knowledge of Illustrator and you're fine with this being quick and dirty, I would:

1. Trace it as you have done already.

2. Delete the logos and tiny text. (After tracing, click 'Expand' in the properties panel, then use the white arrow to select individual points/shapes)

3. Source larger versions and replace them. It shouldn't matter if they are still raster images as they will be reproduced very small even if the whole thing is 500mm across. Here's the Public Health Advice one for instance, at 1024 px across:

Draw it. It's just basic shapes.

And then identify the typeface and set the text with the text tool.

I am like a print broker so to speak, I get buyers and I get someone else to print it for me at trade price. Some customers require customised artwork like "please sit here" etc, and i need to be able to convert them if you get me.

I only know how to use Paint.net hahaha which isnt much good to me.

Sorry

You mean one of your clients pinched that sticker from the PD signs website and asked you to get it printed?

If you or your client need artwork prepared, maybe it's time to start paying someone to do it.

Then why not buy it from them?

Otherwise, everything you need to recreate this is on the HSA website I linked above.
