I've searched the web inside and out, searched all of Adobe's tutorials, searched all the forums... ?
Can you crop a raster image to the clipping mask? I thought Adobe made this possible recently?
I have a large photo masked and want to crop the image to the mask.
A "Crop" means the image is destroyed. I don't want to mask it, I want to permanently crop it.
In the current version you can just crop the image.

*Solution: As it is a simple square/rectangle shape - the solution is to just simply use Object > Crop Image

You may Object/Edit>Flatten Transparency, just keep the defaults including 100% Vector.

Object > Rasterize did the trick for me just now.
I had multiple instances of a large image with different areas visible through Clipping Masks. I want the file to be portable (embedded images rather than linked files) and this method has brought the file size down from 2GB to 196MB.
