My document has 6 symbols.
For each symbol, I have sprayed it as a symbol set. So I have 6 symbol sets.
Is there anyway to count the number of symbol instances in these symbol sets?
Steps I have tried
1. Clicking on the symbol set in the layers panel
2. Going to Window > Document Info
3. Clicking on the trianle menu in Document Info and selecting Objects
When I do this it says:
Symbol Instances: none
Symbol Instance Sets: 1
This confused me. Shouldn't it list the number of symbol instances instead of saying "none".
Thanks!
Select the Symbol set
Object > Expand
Check the number of Symbols

Select the Symbol set
Object > Expand
Check the number of Symbols

I would also do it as described by Ton.
But I agree with you that the info about the number of symbol instances in the Document Info palette is confusing (or even wrong) because any symbol instance set contains symbol instances, of course.
