deleting user defined library symbols in illustrator cs6 on mac

I would like to know how to deleting a user defined symbol library in illustrator cs6 on a mac running os 10.11.6 (El Capitain)

It is not in the Symbol folder in the AI file or in the Adobe file in the library.

Here's where all the settings are:

To get to the user library, you have to press Alt and then in the Finder open Go To > Library
