Direct selection tool moving my whole image

Hi All

I'm having an issue with my AI direct selection tool moving my whole image after I have done an image trace on a hand drawn image, I'm trying to delete unwanted parts of the image but can't select them, instead the selection tool moves everything as one.

Any help on this will be much apreciated as it's driving me crazy.

After tracing the image you should find an Expand button in the Properties panel or the Control panel. Please click that, which will leave you with grouped paths. You should be able to proceed as you wish from there.

Thank you for your reply. Please see the screen shot (please excuse the doodles, just for demo) Even after expand, I still can't select individual parts of the image!

I think I have solved it! I have just selected the white area in the centre of the flower shape and selected - Select - Same - fill colour and deleted the white, the selection tool now works as expected.
