Running Adobe Illustrator 2020 I used to be able to place the selection tool over the corners of the object and resize it but now it doesn't seem to work. I have the bounding box on so cmd+shift+b doesn't work. Doesn't work on text boxes either. The arrows only show up when I make a shape such as a rectangle. I've been having to use the scale tool because of it.

Make sure that your corner point doesn't have another point close to it or over it.
And your point doesn't have a direction line.
