Does Vector image degrade when scaled to larger size? Why? Can I avoid this?

If it is a natively vector file, the image will not degrade with size.

Do you perhaps have Pixel Preview on? If the image is a vector image, it will scale smoothly. However, if you have pixel preview on and scale, perhpas it just doesn't look that way.
