when i try to dowload illustrator on my ipad mini 4, it says device (...) not supported. I have updated and restarted my ipad and nothing works.

According to the system requirements, the iPad Mini 4th Gen is not supported:

You can download the iPad app to your iPad.

But the desktop app will only work on the desktop.

The iPad app only supports some iPads.
