Eraser Tool

Please watch the screen recording and let me know why my Eraser Tool is doing this... It isn't making clear cuts and keeps jumping to weird shapes. Please help.

Sorry to hear about this. Would you mind sharing version of the macOS? Does it happen with a specific file?

I'd recommend updating your Illustrator to the latest version(v24.3). Please follow this help article to know how to do that. Let us know if it helps.
