Every time I use the text box, the type goes vertical. Help?

The default type orientation is horizontal. Also, the Constrain Angle is 0 degrees. 

I have also reset preferences 

Running: 25.3.1 Ai 2021

Your video just shows that your constrain angle is zero. I can not tell if maybe you have a foreign version of illustrator installed, or maybe you used the vertical type tool, or have settings to your type with a right margin that makes your type go vertical.

 

Can we see a screenshot of the vertical type as there are so many reasons and would really need to see what result you are getting and whether you have point or area text.

I figured it out; because my document/artboard wasn't truly landscape, I had to change the artboard orientation. So sorry about that!
