Exporting to jpg - default to active artboard only?

I have 3 artboards containing mock-ups of design variations that includes multiple variations in color schemes. In the end I have about 150 jpgs.

Exporting to jpgs works fine, but repetitive when ticking the artboard checkbox each time, then deleting the artboard number at the OSX file level.

If I don't select an artboard during Export As, then all the artboards are exported in one jpg. Even when the contents of artboards are not visible, a blank frame appears in the export file along with the contents I want to retain.

So... is there a setting somewhere that tells the Export As function to default to the active artboard only? Or is there another method? Thank you.
