Hello!

I am having an issue that is really making my work life difficult. Hope you can help!

I have two swatch patterns in illustrator that I need to both export as one artwork in a pdf. I know how to prepare one pattern for export (drag and drop swatch to desktop - fit art board to artwork - export for screens). How to I do this for two artworks though??

Thanks in advance

Perhaps you can show a screenshot, because I just don't understand why this gives you an issue.

Hey!

so there are three things. The blue-green background that doesn't create an
issue. The botanical element and the square pattern. Both the botanical and
the square I have dragged and droped on the artboard. but they have
different sizes. the square pattern has very thin lines and is very
detailed to accurately match it with the size of the botanical one

Can't you just drag and drop 2 patterns onto your artboard? If they aren't the same dimensions it won't be seamless.

Hey Melissa,

of course I can drop them both on the artboard, but they have different
dimensions. I can only fit the artboard to one of the items. So the final
export won't be a seamless pattern. I know I am missing something, I just
don't know what

I don't think you are missing anything. If they aren't the same dimensions it won't work the way you want it to. You'll have to resize one to make it match.

so you don't think there is a way to export two juxtaposing patterns
together seamlessly in a more automated way? It's impossible to accurately
resize either pattern to match the limits of the other. there is no
tutorial about that

No, I don't think you can do what you are trying to do. I think you can spend some time doing it manually, but no automatic way to do it.
