Extremely poor performance on iMac Pro

I bought an iMac Pro (2017) with and Radeon Pro Vega 64X 16 GB and 64 GB memory and the Illustrator (version 25.2) performance is extremely poor. For a simple A4 page to render it tages seconds. It's impossible to work this way. 

In contrast, the same documents render in Affinity Designer or Sketch butterly smooth, in real-time.

I am at loss here. What can I do?

It is already a fresh installation of the most recent version of Illustrator (25.2)
