File opening error

Hi all, when I go to open my file, it gives me a message saying, the file is protected or already in use, but I haven't put a password for the file, and it's not even in use. How do I resolve?

This is not the message for passwords, so it's something else. Can you copy the file to your desktop, then open it from there?
