Since one week we are experiencing a problem on several computers with different licences and different files.
When we open an illustrator file that was generated on another computer it can only be opened partly.
See the error pop-up window attached.
We all have the latest version installed with auto update function.
I have experienced a similar thing in the past. It looked like this when you try to open an Ai file that was created with a newer version on somebody elses machine.
Anybody experienced the same problem? Any suggestions?
Can you still open the files on the computer they were created on?
How do you get them on the other computer? If via a network: do you first trransfer the files to the harddisk and then open them? If not (and you are accessing them directly from Illustrator File open), then please try if first transferring then opening works.
I would turn off auto updates the newest latest greatest version always will have risk of being buggy with OS/plugins etc. Have one person update when a less busy day at work, test for a week then upgrade everyone. Better to not be the first ones to update, and watch the forums. You may also wish to go back to 24.0 as many other people had this issue.
Thanks for the link and reply. It seems like a big thing. We will turn of auto update and reinstall the older version as suggested. Thanks!
thanks for sending a reaction. I see that this is a problem that many people are facing. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
