Fill shape with other shapes

Hi, I have a big shape that I want to fill it with specific size dots, 8mm and space them all at 10mm of each, without colide or have half of dots. I found this script https://github.com/alexander-ladygin/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/fillinger.jsx but is resizing the dots in % of the main shape. Can someone alter it to don't resize the dots?

Is it possible to do this with Pattern Options?

I already tried that and will end in half dots
