Hi
I'm trying to recreate the red leaf 'carpet' that's in this photo. It's a class assignment. Recreate a nature photo in Illustrator using brushes, gradients, painterly things. It's not going to be exact. I'm looking for a way to recreate the impressionist feel of the 'carpet' without spending ages. Some kind of repeat? I'm not sure what the Scatter Brush does, but it sounds like it might be a possibility? Is there a brush or technique that would replicate the effect of loading a paint brush with paint and then splattering it on a canvas?
Scatter brush is the route I would go.
Shapes like these, each turned into a scatter brush
Options in the scatter brush all set to randomand colorization set to "Tints"
Then draw wild paths, apply different shades of red.
