Fitting a path into another path all sides same distance.

Probably it is very simple but i cannot find the solution.

I'd like to create a path into another path but at the same distance from the outsidepath.

In Photoshop you can expand selection and create a border but in Illustrator i canot find the right solution. I think ther must be an easy way for this. Somebody knows?

The Object --> Path --> Offset Path option will do just that.
